This was a very sneaky Gopher Snake (Pituophis catenifer) that came out to hunt after a rain. It is amazing that a snake with a head about the size of your thumb can swallow a gopher the size of your hand.
About John Irons
As a nature photographer here in Canada and also in America, I hope to widen my scope to other countries soon.
