Artist's Description
The Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) can grow between 18-25 inches tall and have a wingspan from 3 to 5 feet across. This little guy was blown from his nest after a wind storm but was reunited with his mom that evening as he practiced flying in Goleta, California.
About John Irons

As a nature photographer here in Canada and also in America, I hope to widen my scope to other countries soon. I am constantly in awe of our Creator's use of an immense variety of mediums in His artwork. My desire is to catch His creations in their best light and present them in museum quality to those who have an appreciation for nature. Although, I do occasionally shoot man's creations of historic or artistic value if they catch my eye. Thank you and God bless you. John

Stunning photo! What a beauty. Is this the owl that was in the newspaper awhile back? If so, it was a great story. :)
John Irons replied:
I am glad that you appreciate this little one. I don't think it is the same owl because only 3 people saw this one. I did not hear about the one in the newspaper, was it okay?
